Venkatesh Balasubramaniam was born in the South of Tamil Nadu and currently lives and works in Chennai, India. Being a meditator himself and a firm follower of Buddhist principles, the idea of co-existence and cause and effect profoundly influenced his inner being. When you truly understand that you are not 'alone' or 'special' in any way, it liberates the person from pain and suffering.
Contemporary abstract paintings are undoubtedly the best medium to showcase the unique journey of the individual.
Venkatesh has witnessed both the pain and pleasure of having many people in his childhood, immediate and extended family members. Various shades of personality that each person brings about and the chain reaction that a specific event initiates in the setup to disturb the equilibrium and how it once again balances itself has fascinated him beyond imagination.
That's what one gets to see in his paintings. The interconnectedness, the balance, and the variety make it a pleasurable journey to travel with his work along with him.
