All through his school years, Venkatesh had only one dream to aspire & achieve, to join the Government College of Fine Arts Chennai. He had often visited it with his father, working as a lecturer in the Textile Department. When the long wait got over in the year 1993, he did get his admission in Painting Major and was also ranked in the first 10. His deep dive experience in art transformed him from a shy, introverted person into a confident and daring artist.
 

Subsequently, he continued the pursuit by graduating Masters Degree in Painting from the same institution and came out with flying colours in 2001. He has been awarded the State Lalit Kala Academy award twice (1995,98), once from Oviya Nunkalai Kuzhu (1995) and a national exhibition nominee. He has extensively participated in national level and state-level camps and group shows throughout his art career.

When he started experimenting with his artistic talents to the digital medium, he became sought after design talents. Looking at the difference he could make through his contributions, Venkatesh started to balance his two professions by continuing to paint and grow in digital space.
